It seems like for our generation, it is when you hit the thirty-year mark that wedding invitations starts flying in, getting married at 27 is considered early amongst my circle of friends. When we received the invitation for our friend's wedding in San Francisco, the first thought that popped into our head was, should we take the baby with us? For a lot of parents this would not even be a question worth scrutinising over, well, we don't roll that way, let's face it, weddings are all about having fun, had the baby come with us, fun would have ended around 7:30. Luckily our brilliant-oh-so-caring-and-soon-to-be-best-friend friends (who are a couple, with baby! - those are the best kind of friends to have when you are also, a couple, with baby!) offered to babysit fafa for the night, SO! Hello~~ San Francisco! 

[travel] Italian wedding. The slow but stylish Italian way

It was July this year when we made our journey for the first time to this little Italian town called Conegliano in Treviso- where Prosecco originates. Not your typical destination when travelling to Italy but we were very much looking forward to our friend's wedding there!!

We travelled via plane, train, car, boat, from LA to Florence to Conegliano to Venice, it was quite a trip mostly because of the heat!

In this fashion desert known as Irvine, CA, a stay home mum has to have strong enough will power not to follow the Lululemon-wearing trend running mundane errands and I truly, wholeheartedly, hope that I can stay determined!

Very much at the opposite ends of the spectrum to skin tight yoga wear, culottes are baggy, airy garments that hangs like a skirts but are actually trousers. Wikipedia tells me they originated from the early C19, were worn by European upper class and the word itself is French. 

Culottes are a bit like marmite I think, you either love it or hate it.. either way they have been back for a few years now and be it winter or summer I feel that they are here to stay~

It has been almost 14 month since I last posted anything and oddly, it's the murder of Cecil the lion that got me to want to start blogging again, for a non-animal lover even I am surprised myself how much the subject has infuriated me. For what it's worth, I think trophy hunting is vile and these animal murderers are a disgrace to the human species!

It has been over a year since the last post and if this was a diary entry, I plan to capture some of the moments from the last 14 month from being pregnant to being a mum while still trying to have fun!  

[outfit] Casual Wednesday with Bvlgari Serpenti

I've been eyeing the Bvlgari Serpenti for a while now and have never been able to find a colour that I like, be it London, Taipei, HK, LA, they seemed to always be sold out.. so.. naturally when I saw this in the local Bvlgari store I had to make the investment!

Taking a look around and about at the shoe section for spring, be it Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Parda, McQueen, Burberry, Valention, you name it, they have either espadrilles or slip on trainers in their spring collection.

It's almost spring and this morning I thought I'd bring some fuchsia into the office!

Being in the retail business myself, I am the kinda of customer I hate. 

If there's a product that I know will go on sale, I will never (ok.. almost never..ok.. unless I really really couldn't live without it..) pay retail. 

Gilt is a site I shop on a lot, they have different "events" everyday, and I browse through daily as if they were the morning papers. (funny how they are called events as if they were some occasion one needs to plan an outfit on prior to attending..like a wedding or the Royal Ascot - nope, it's a SALE, plain and simple S.A.L.E)  

They were having (and is still going on I think) a Linda Farrow event and I attended in my full on pajamas, it's as if we were meant to be, I found my new shades.

For our wedding anniversary, I got a major surprise in the morning! 

As I mentioned last week here that I saw the casual chic Hermes Pliplat clutch when we went shopping and fell in love with it.. 

Little did I know John went and got it and surprised me as my 30th birthday/ wedding anniversary present!!! 

I am not usually a morning person but this morning was very cheery and different! ha!

When Chanel first brought out the espadrille, I looked at it in disgust thinking it was horrible.. but then it started to grow on me, it wasn't until last year when I tried a pair on did I then realise why people were buying them and wearing them. 

The lamb skin is buttery soft, it's so nice on the skin, sooo comfortable, and it's a nice alternative to trainers and ballerinas (if you wear flats as often as I do..)

Before I begin babbling on about my outfit, I just wanted to say how creative and fun was the Chanel PFW AW2014 runway !?! Chanel Supermarket!!? Genius!

It was over the weekend that I felt the weather might have just been appropriate to allow me to take my hat out for a stroll to the mall..

[thots] Oscar night- favourite dresses

Watching the Oscars has been a ritual for us since we were young. Moving to the US makes this ritual even easier with no time difference; so, as always, I was stuck to the TV from the red carpets right to the end. I loved Ellen as a host, so charming and witty, and of course the record breaking selfie moment was just so fun even for us watching! (and just how photogenic is everyone.. !? no wonder they are all super stars!)

I've been doing yoga more frequently than before and that also means always having a thousand things to carry, so I thought, I needed a clutch that's simple, zipped, for my wallets and essentials in the mornings, AND I can throw it in my yoga bag so that all things needed to be carried can be consolidated in to ONE GIANT BAG! 

I am very rational and logical in my shopping process... (really?!) I therefore started searching for a simple zipped clutch!

Change is sometimes hard to comprehend, it's almost a process of acceptance.

I remember those young wild days when I could still feel light as a feather the next day after having downed 3 pints of beer and killing a full MacDonalds meal at 1am, or a full set of kebab with extra mayo and chips on the side... those were the good old days when metabolism was one of my bffs, 

TIME HAVE SINCE CHANGED

I've been growing a food baby since getting married, metabolism left me when John put that ring on my finger... 

Since the departure of my bff and arrival of my food baby.. I've been opting for more baggy tops - you know like how ostriches bury their hands in the sand HA, well I do exercise too.. kind of..

For valentine's day, instead of having roses, I had strawberries and they were wonderful~ for all those that didn't get flowers, have a strawberry!

Perhaps influenced by it's history with miners, denims to me has always seem indestructible, and by complete coincidence, my recent two trips out of the city to the proper outdoors world, I wore denim on denim. (It's not like I think I'll need a indestructible shield to protect me from out of civilization, but what I will say is, in the tale of the city mouse and country mouse, I'd definitely be the city one)

I am still waiting for the "leftover" polar vortex affect to kick in here in LA, doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon though. It is however is getting slightly more chilly and more February appropriate (February already?!?!?!- shocking!)

Last time we were at Cabo for my birthday we had dinner on the beach. It was a nice April's day with a light breeze. This time John had also organized for the family to enjoy dinner on the beach, the January wind was significantly different to the April breeze though...
